Gibraltar‘s strategic position means that vessels need make only the most minimal deviation from the main shipping lanes, causing very little delay to voyages. The close proximity of Gibraltar International Airport allows for rapid transfers of crew. The airport, which is located just one kilometre from the sea port, offers scheduled flights to and from London. Ships which do not wish to go off charter while making crew changes can do so by taking advantage of the Off Port Limits service.
