The ship is able to save time and money
by remaining in international waters instead
of entering the port. Up to 12 crew members
can be transferred and up to 4 tonnes of stores
can be taken on board in any single operation,
but a ship can be supplied by more than one
vessel.
We can send out a tug or supply
vessel to change crews and to deliver stores,
spare parts, mail, charts and other essential
items while the ship is under way. The whole
operation can take as little as 15 minutes.
There are three specified off-limits‘
areas which have been chosen in order to cause
a minimum of interference with regular shipping
traffic.
Zone A - One
mile east of Europa Point
Zone B - Seven miles south-east
of Europa Point
Zone C - Vessels can also
anchor off the east side of Gibraltar
